Job Description Summary: Software Engineer that will help develop Cluster Management Platform and support Kubernetes clusters across different Cloud providers

Meet our Team:

The Platform team supports internal developers and business units utilizing the PayPal platform. Focused on overall performance, support and capacity of the platform which houses over 30K applications. PayPal’s large-scale platform runs at peak efficiency, requiring optimum performance and security. The team works closely with the open source community to enhance key components suiting PayPal requirements.

Your Way to Impact:

• Help develop Cluster Management Platform and support Kubernetes clusters across different Cloud providers
• You will be involved in adding new capabilities and enhancing existing features of the Clustering platform of PayPal that manages Apache Mesos and Kubernetes clusters across clouds

Your Day to Day:

• Focused on developing code. Code is well-commented and typically improves after one or more code reviews
• Will be Involved in discussion with senior leader and architect about development plan and design; Produces code that is sufficiently supported by test units
• Work with engineers and other cross functional teams including Research, Project Management, Quality Assurance, Operations etc. to develop great software that meets market needs with respect to functionality, reliability, performance, scalability

What You Need to Bring:

• Programming skills in one or more of the languages - GoLang, Java
• Some understanding of Unix/Linux
• Exposure to few of the following technologies - Kubernetes, Docker, Containerd, Apache Mesos
• Good Problem solving & Analytical Skills
• Excellent Computer Science fundamentals
• Detailed knowledge on the project performed during course curriculum
• Good attitude and communication
• A BS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field is preferred but not required
